out of utilization of biological resources.

Inventorization of biological and ethno-biological
resources, including zoological and botanical survey.

Creation, notification, coordination and monitoring of
(a) biosphere reserves and (b) natural heritage sites,
including botanical gradens and wetlands.

Regulatory protection plans of genetic resources.

To
evolve integrated plans and programmers in
biotechnology including promotin of related
industries.

Identify, set up and support centers of excellence for
research and Development relating to biological
resources and biotechnology.

To act
as the nodal department of the State Govrenment for
purpose of :-
(a)
import and transfer of new
technologies for manufacture of biological and
biotechnological products and thir intermediates; and
(b)
import of genetically
manipulated materials, cultures cells, specimens,
tissues and biotech products, and for promoting their
productin in the Stage;
Planning, promotion and coordination of manpower
development for various activites relating to
biodiversity and Bio-Technology.
